In 1998, the Kuwait Diving Team signed a contract with the Kuwait Environment Public Authority, under which it published an illustrated encyclopedia containing the masterpieces, treasures, and riches of Kuwait's marine environment, including coral reefs and the marine life that inhabit them.
Since 1998, the team has been utilizing its expertise and capabilities for this purpose. A decision was issued to form a working group tasked with completing this work. The team continued documentation and photography for several years, and 2,000 copies of the illustrated encyclopedia of coral reefs were published in 2009, in addition to 2,000 CDs. On February 15, 2010, His Highness the late Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, may God rest his soul, received members of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Science Club, and a copy of the encyclopedia was presented to His Highness.
