KSC

The Paragliding Committee was established in 2001 as one of the committees of the Department of Aeronautics and Radio-controlled Cars. It is responsible for compiling international aviation regulations and monitoring their application to hobbyists. It also coordinates with relevant authorities in the country to monitor the most important developments and domestic and international regulations governing this sport. Its most notable achievements include the following:

International Participation
  • Representing Kuwait in the annual gathering of world paragliding teams, hosted by Egypt in several tourist and historical cities, with professional pilots from around the world.
  • Captain Sultan Al-Enezi, coach of the Scientific Club's Paragliding Team, participated as an observer from the International Air Sports Federation (FAI) and as a jury member at the 5th FAI World Paramotor Slalom Championships 2023 in Lake Bornos, Spain, with 37 pilots representing 11 countries.
Local Participation
  • Participated in the opening of the 2017 Gulf Popular Heritage Festival at the Sabah Al-Ahmad Heritage Village, western Kuwait, with the participation of several government, civil, and private entities.
  • Participated in the sixth edition of the Kuwait Yacht Show 2018 at Marina Crescent in Salmiya to support and develop the tourism sector in Kuwait.
  • Participated in the World Jet Ski Championship 2020, held at Marina Beach, hosted by Kuwait for the first time, with professional racers from more than 30 countries.
  • Participation in the Second Kuwait Aviation Show 2020, attended by representatives of 37 countries and numerous government agencies and international aviation companies.
  • Participation in the "Taawun 1" 2023 exercise at Adair Field with military, security forces, and the Civil Defense Committee, showcasing the skills of Kuwaiti youth.
National Celebrations
  • Annual participation in the National Day celebrations, with Scientific Club aircraft performing aerial displays and formations in the country's skies.
Embracing Youth Hobbies
  • Holding the annual paragliding camp in the Khiran area (Route 278) with flying demonstrations, promoting youth engagement and aviation hobbies.
Supporting National Initiatives
  • Actively participating in campaigns promoting Gulf unity and solidarity.
  • Supporting marine environmental conservation campaigns under "Our Sea Deserves It" on the islands of Kubbar, Umm Al-Maradim, and Qaruh.
  • Supporting the "Love of the Nation Is Achieved Through Participation and Positivity" campaign in Subiya to clean beaches and reduce environmental impact.
Volunteer Work

  • Organizing the Open Day for People with Disabilities as part of the annual paragliding camp, bringing joy and participation from government agencies, associations, and volunteer teams.
